Dr. Travis Simmons
Family Medicine located in New Braunfels, TX
Dr. Travis Simmons is a Board Certified Family Physician. He was born in Texas, grew up in northern New Mexico, then obtained a bachelor’s degree in biology from Texas A&M University (whoop!) where he met his wife, Sarah. Dr. Simmons attended medical school in San Antonio at the UT Health Science Center where he became a member of the Humanism in Medicine Honor Society. He knew from the outset of medical school that he wanted to be a primary care doctor, and throughout his schooling was inspired by the holistic, community-focused approach taken by the family medicine doctors he worked with.
As a primary care doctor, his passion is helping people find the path to health and wellness that fits them best. He pursued additional education in integrative medicine and functional medicine, which provide perspectives/tools not taught in traditional medical training. He treats a broad spectrum of acute and chronic disease, and performs many in-office procedures.
Outside of medicine, his priority is his wife, son, and extended family and friends. He loves any activity that immerses him in the natural world, especially gardening, hiking, running, or fermenting foods like sauerkraut, beer, and kimchi.
